I don't know if any episodes survive, but they are certaining public domain should they have been preserved.

Actually, the BFI (I forgot what that stands for :) has some episodes, but they only make them available to educators and the like. So I know at least some are out there, but I can't get my greasy mitts on them. Maybe I should just change my user name to Tantalus.....

Oh, yeah, I think it's the British Film Institute or some such.

But they are NOT under copyright. Anybody claiming copyright on Pre-1959 UK TV is breaking british copyright law. Unless, of course, you replied to the wrong post, which always leaves me confused.

Well, that's good to know. I wasn't really talking about copyright, though - I was just whining because BFI won't let me play with their toys. :) They don't claim anything, they just won't let me have any because I'm not a UK educator. I'm tempted to email them and see if they'll let me buy some episodes. Maybe I'll try that when I catch up with the bills.
